Zoning and Land Use
The attorneys at Kenny Chase & Costa have a long and successful track-record of guiding developers, builders, religious institutions and individuals through the complexities of zoning and land development approvals. We represent clients on a wide range of matters including site plans, variances, subdivisions, developer agreements, access permits, rezoning applications, master plan changes. We have also upheld our clients’ rights in both State and Federal Court when municipal planning or zoning boards have ruled against them. Our attorney, Chris Costa, has particularly extensive experience advocating on behalf of publicly beneficial land uses. Recently, he represented the prospective landlord of the drug and alcohol detoxification center in state court in which the court found that a for-profit residential detoxification is an inherently beneficial use. He also represents multiple religious institutions in federal court actions under the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA).
In addition, we have represented the municipal zoning and planning boards in Ewing, Hopewell, West Windsor and Robbinsville. We also represent numerous additional municipalities as counsel for the Joint Insurance Fund.
